About Us

Banff Dance Academy is a recreational and competitive studio located in Banff, Alberta.
We have serviced the Bow Valley since 2007, providing a fun and engaging experience for our dancers. We work to develop a genuine respect as dance as an art form and building a lifelong love of dance.
At BDA, we provide our dancers with opportunities to perform onstage, examine and dance for the love of movement and expression. We pride ourselves on developing not just the dancer, but there person by encouraging team work, ambition, friendship, leadership and confidence.

We are so excited for you to join the BDA dance family and see what makes this community so special.

What We Offer

Banff Dance Academy offers classes for all levels, ages and abilities!

We introduce the youngest of our dancers to the amazing world of dance and movement in our Parented Classes, providing bonding time between the dancer and mom while also introducing the studio atmosphere to little ones.

Our fun and structured Preschool classes for the younger aged dancers (3 – 5) are offered in a few options that will excite every child: combo classes, ballet, jazz and acro. Dancers in full year classes get the opportunity to perform onstage for their loved ones in our yearly recital.

We offer Pre-Primary & Primary classes to develop body awareness, co-ordination, teamwork, musicality and correct dance technique.

We offer recreational program in styles ranging from hip hop to acro, to ballet for all levels and ages. Our recreational classes focus on the development of strong technique while having fun, without the commitment required from our competitive dancers. Students can choose from a variety of styles, all with the opportunity to perform onstage in our yearly recital.

We also offer a comprehensive competitive training program for the more serious and passionate dancers. Our competitive team partake in classes together to develop technique and unity, while also partaking in classes with our recreational dancers. Dancers in our competitive program are required to have a high attendance rate, show passion and leadership, as well as self-motivation as at home practice is necessary. Competitive dancers get the opportunity to perform onstage at competitions, local events and in our yearly recital.

We are proud to offer our dancers the opportunity to take examinations in various styles of dance. We offer examination opportunities with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), International Dance Teaching Association (IDTA), ADAPT and Acrobatic Arts.
